Svalilt's Water Mill

In the old days, each town had its own little water mill. Hike the blue or white trails to get here or take a 10-minute walk southeast of Svalilt, upstream along Vekaån. The mill hasn’t been used since 1938, but Breared Cultural & Historical Association ensures that the millstones are preserved and that the roof is covered with peat.

Have a look inside the mill and read about how it used work. Håralt lake served as a water magazine and when used, the water was released so that a number of water mills could use the hydropower.
